iPhone 3G

I finally upgraded to the 3G iPhone… the deciding factor? the guy that works for us in Russia is here for the week, and apparently they can’t get them in Russia for less than $1,000 US… he was willing to pay a premium, but me as nice as I am (have you stopped laughing yet?) told him if he bought me a new 3G he could have my old iPhone (3G’s apparently don’t work in Russia, but they have wi-fi everywhere) so yeah, scored me an upgrade for free… free is my favorite price

Seems like lately I have been too busy with nothing… I should be really busy at work, but I really don’t want to do anything… I work to late, too many hours, so there never seems to be time when I get home to get all the things done that I want to do!
I mean, I have shot a wedding, any new photos on my web site? nope, no time… I have a link on my web site for personal projects, its been well over a month and I have found maybe 6 photos I want to post…
How do I find more hours in the day to do the things I need to do, or find less hours in my work life and get paid what I’m worth?

iPhone 2.0

I have been anxiously awaiting the release of the iPhone 2.0 software as I am not eligible for and upgrade, and seriously I don’t think I will upgrade until I can get an iPhone for my beloved Verizon service (oh soo, soo much better than AT&T)…
Thursday I started hearing twitters and blog post about people upgrading to version 2.0 so I searched and found the update, unfortunately all the info about using it on Windows was incorrect and it would not work, so I waited for the apple release the next morning - finally my iPhone was upgrading to version 2.0… WooHoo, oh shit, WTF it got stuck on “phoning home” to the mothership (pretty sure Jello Biafra has a funny anecdote about this one!) shit, fuck, shit, fuck…. I am already late for work!! so I take my useless brick of an iPhone… at least I could call 911 if I raged on the highway and rammed into a bunch of cars (my secret road rage dream)…
Get to work 20min late… I can’t even download iTunes at first I thought it was an IT issue, but no it was an Apple issue, after about an hour I was able to download iTunes… in the mean time I started searching blogs, forums, Apple themselves (very un-helpful by the way), news, anything… soon realized that Apple pulled a Microsoft, totally un-prepared to release a new iPhone and new software upgrade on the same freaking day!!! (so Microsoft) everyone with a first generation iPhone now had an iBrick…
grrrrrr…
Finally after about 6 hours it magically started working, I could text and make phone calls, as I was at work, I could not restore my iPhone, but at least I could text D…
Get home plug in the iPhone… holy shit there are so many cool apps! my personal favorites, Pandora and Twittelator, this really cool remote that I can use to change songs on D’s iTunes when he leaves it on, goes outside and a crappy song comes on… I can dial a number using a rotary feature just like the old phones I grew up with… and these are just some of the free ones! I could probably max my credit cards pretty fast on all the coolness the new apps provide!

Wii Fit

the saga of the Wii fit… about 3 weeks ago I finally found a Wii console, just by chance I was in the check out line at Smiths Market Place and they announced they had 3 of them… WooHoo! I had wanted one ever since Nintendo announced the Wii fit… so I purchased my Wii, then I went looking for a wii fit, apparently they are as rare as oil… looked on-line, no where, looked on Ebay, they want double the price!! so yeah, I thought I would just wait a few months for Nintendo to get their shit together and get one then…
As luck would have it, I went to Smiths Market Place to purchase something for a birthday present, it happened to be an electronics item, so I proceeded to the checkout and wouldn’t you know, right behind the counter, a Wii fit!!! WooHoo! so out pops the debit card :)… went back to work, watched the clock… Finally go home, plug in my new toy, and wouldn’t you know it does not work… called Nintendo and yeah it was broken, they said I could send it back to them, they would fix it and send it back… the whole process would take about 10 to 17 weeks… WTF are you serious? needless to say, I took it back to Smiths, the guy looked at me like I was totally crazy returning it! I stopped by a couple of stores on my way home looking for another one, and let me tell you, the customer service in stores these days really sucks, seriously the looks and responses I was getting from those people, unbelievable! they treated me like I was retarded or something! anyway, the kid at theShopko in Sugarhouse said to check first thing in the morning, so I got up early, got ready, and D woke up, and being the geek he is, he offered to show me how to get one! I mean he has spent a good amount of time scoping out stores for the best toys, has the collection to prove it!
Shopko no luck… Sprawl-Mart rude!! K-Mart at least she looked… different Shopko nicely said you are crazy lady… Toys R Us talked out their ass, and we had some competition now!… Best Buy laughed at us… different Best Buy tried to get us to buy Rock Band… at this point, I had pretty much given up! lets go get some breakfast… We decide since it was on our way home, we would try the Sugarhood Toys R Us… I don’t know if it was the desperate pathetic look on my face, of if the kid was just really nice, SORE!!! WooHoo
The best part, this one actually worked! other than my Wii fit age being 13 years older than my real age… hehehe! Kyle and I took turns playing it for a good two hours, I am gonna be sore tomorrow!
so yeah, I am so happy my geeky boyfriend is super persistent and knew how disappointed I was about the first one being broke!! Love you baby XOXOXOXOXOXO
